Pixie Costume

Children love to dress up and don’t even need the excuse of Halloween to do it. They especially like to look like their favorite characters, whether they be from books or movies. When Disney’s “Peter Pan” was released in 1953 it gave audiences a glimpse into the fascinating world of the pixie. Up until then fairies were only heard of in books, but with the wonderful help of Walt Disney, he brought them out of every little girl’s imagination and presented them to us as only he could.

The popularity of the movie is still felt today because of the contribution made by Tinkerbell. This pixie costume is fitting for little girls in every way since it represents a beautiful creature that is adored by others. Isn’t that how we see our little ones?

And the overall appearance of the outfit is a great example of how they would expect a pixie to look if they saw one. You have a gorgeous ruffled dress with iridescent layers, in pastel shades of blue, pink, purple and of course white.

The top portion of it is blue and the bottom half under the skirt area is pink. The waist band and neck area are decorated with small clusters of flowers. Over the shoulder areas are sheer ruffled material and also mixed in with the bottom of the dress.

There is a matching headpiece with flowers and flowing ribbons that dangle. Attached to the back of the dress are the wings that are also multi-colored sheer material.
